ACTT Training & Testing announces dramatic cost reduction for instructional workbooks.
HOUSTON, TEXAS: May 14, 2009 – ACTT announced today that selected IMPactt instructional workbooks covering over 100 essential workplace tasks related to safety, compressors, engines, plant operations and other topics will be offered at reduced prices
through June 30, 2009.ACTT, a subsidiary of Houston-based CECO, is a leading provider of technical training, technical services, and consulting for the natural gas and petrochemical industries.
The company has compiled 16 pre-packaged workbooks filled with the most essential tasks relating to compressors, engines, pipelines, plant operations, safety and tools; these instructional packages, available at www.impactt.com, will be priced at 30% below regular prices.
Given the current economic climate, ACTT’s managers decided that some companies would be interested in training their employees on simple tasks using IMPactt workbooks rather than hiring expensive trainers or having to provide travel expenses to technical courses.
“We see our reduced pricing program on instruction workbooks as a way to provide good training information to operators in companies hit by tough times and to introduce new prospects to ACTT’s training materials,” said Charles Ely, ACTT Vice President. “It’s a win-win for us and the industry.”
ACTT began developing customized training workbooks three years ago. Based on the feedback from users, ACTT has now produced instruction workbooks for 287 tasks, and has created a web-based ordering system allowing customers to select tasks from among different subjects to create their own custom workbooks if they prefer. For an additional fee, customers can be tested by task online, and receive a certificate of completion.
Customers have been enthusiastic about the IMPactt workbooks. Rick Lynch, Senior Instructor of Technical Training with Dominion Transmission, said, "I am using the IMPactt training system to train entry level operators on knowledge and theory of compressor station equipment. With this information in their heads, they were able to walk up to a piece of equipment and figure out a problem on their own. They take this information back to the compressor station and apply it directly to their equipment."
ACTT, a division of CECO, provides testing and training to compressor and engine operators. CECO is the world’s largest independent manufacturer of engine and compressor replacement parts. Customers include gas pipelines, gathering and processing companies, petrochemical, industrial and refrigeration plants worldwide. In addition, CECO Pipeline Services provides new construction and a variety of maintenance services to pipeline operators. CECO, headquartered in Houston, also has facilities in Odessa, Texas and Walker, Louisiana.
