CECO Announces Spring Enrollment for Free Channel
Valve Repair School

HOUSTON, TEXAS: April 16, 2009 – Compressor Engineering Corporation (CECO) announced today the opening of spring enrollment for its free channel valve repair school. Over 500 compressor mechanics have attended this popular course on the techniques, tips, dimensioning and testing required for proper channel valve maintenance and repair.  Prospective attendees are encouraged to enroll soon before classes are filled.  Registration is available online at http://www.ceconet.com/ceco_registration.php, or by calling 1-800-TRYCECO.

Although the course concentrates on channel valves, which are used in reciprocating air and gas compressors around the globe, CECO’s free Compressor Valve School has grown to include instruction in compressor repair topics other than valves. “Today, we cover the repair procedures needed to maximize performance on unloaders, regulators and packing cases used in reciprocating compressors. Our students get much more for their time than ever before,” said David Crawfoot, Repair Manager.

CECO’s repair specialists guide students through a hands-on program that demonstrates how to properly and efficiently repair their own channel valves, from inspection and cleaning to machining, assembly and testing. Each student not only gains the knowledge of how to repair his company’s valves, but students also take repaired valves back to their shops.  A trainee from a well-known eastern foundry once remarked, “The training showed me the best way to teach my people valve repair.”

CECO is the world’s largest independent manufacturer of engine and compressor replacement parts.  Customers include gas pipelines, gathering and processing companies, petrochemical, industrial and refrigeration plants worldwide.  In addition, CECO Pipeline Services provides new construction and a variety of maintenance services to pipeline operators.  CECO’s ACTT division provides testing and training to compressor and engine operators.  CECO, headquartered in Houston, also has facilities in Odessa, Texas and Walker, Louisiana.
